Utilising advanced X-ray technology, our Orthopantomogram (OPG) provides a panoramic view of the entire jaw, helping in the diagnosis of fractures, dislocations, and dentition, and is invaluable in surgical planning such as wisdom teeth removal. The Lateral Cephalogram, on the other hand, offers a side view of the facial bones, which is primarily used to evaluate the bite and is a critical tool in orthodontic assessments.
During your dental imaging session, you will be positioned in front of the X-ray machine where special care is taken to ensure proper alignment. For an OPG, the machine rotates around your head, capturing a complete panoramic image of your upper and lower jaw. This process is quick and painless. For a Lateral Cephalogram, the X-ray is taken from the side to provide a detailed view of the facial bones, focusing on the profile of your jaw and dental alignment. Both procedures are non-invasive with minimal discomfort involved.
HOW IT WORKS
For both OPG and Lateral Cephalogram, you will stand or sit still as the X-ray machine captures clear, detailed images of your jaw and teeth from different perspectives.
How long will my appointment take?
Each dental imaging appointment, whether for an OPG or a Lateral Cephalogram, typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes. This includes the time taken to position you correctly, perform the scan, and ensure the images are clear and accurate.
